Help keep Oldham’s heritage and theatre alive by becoming one of George Street Chapel’s enthusiastic team of volunteer actors and storytellers.

The team help to engage and educate local primary school children and small groups of adults about Oldham’s fascinating history during the Victorian era through intimate interactive costumed performances.

Fancy being a strict Victorian school teacher for a day?

Or live in one of our 1850’s dwellings?

Or could you captivate an audience with real life stories?

If you love meeting new people, like acting and work well as part of a team, then we would love to have you on board! Training and support provided.

Due to a lot of the performances being for school age children, the majority of tours will be during school term times (often towards the summer months), although tours are held throughout the year for schools, local interest groups and the general public.

We also need volunteers who could help out with craft activities for school groups, or even people helping out behind the scenes making cuppas and helping tidy and set up.
